Buddy Bench

If you have been in the school system within the last few years you probably know about the buddy bench system. This is a bench that is placed on the playground for anyone that is lonely, sad or needs a friend to sit on. When others see this they go and check on that child to see if they want to play or just need someone to sit with them. I love that we have implemented it here in little Deer Lodge.

I have seen this simple little bench help ease loneliness and foster friendships. It has been a great addition to our playground.

I am so proud to tell you of another group who's motto is:

Do you know who I am talking about. Yep the girl scouts, oh I know you have had a cookie or two in your lifetime. Why are their cookies sooooo good?

Anyway I have come upon a chance to not only get cookies and help out this organization but to also help one troop reach their goals and build buddy benches for their community. My friends little girl is part of this troop and when she told me what they were using the money for I had to get involved. The problem is she lives in Alaska. Through her website I can still order cookies (BTW: they have s'more ones, YUM) and support her troop but they will cost to have them shipped.
