So I have to be honest here....my children have lived with NO dressers for most of their lives. Both of the older ones lived out of their closets that were about the size of.............well the dwelling of my hedgehog Toby (and that's small).

Don't get me wrong, they both had space to hang and shelves to store clothes on, but it wasn't enough. This of course gave them reason to have a messy closet.
Now my youngest did have a small dresser that worked well as a youngster. It consisted of three small ( yep we are talking Toby small) drawers and two longer shallow drawers. Needless to say, when he moved into the downstairs......he used the closet too.
Well now that my two oldest are off to college we have been doing some rearranging. I finally decided....we need a dresser to put clothes that are floating around my house, but I wanted to buy cheap and do a diy project. And that is just what I did.
Although I live in a small town I went second hand shopping and to garage sales and finally posted on our Facebook classified that I was in need of a cheap dresser. And my pleas were answered with....OLE RED.
I was too excited to even wait to take pictures with the drawers in it....but trust me...it was RED.

Not only was it red but it was white underneath it.....double whammy.
Ok...so it is a little on the warped side but it was solid.

Even though the casters were still working good they were really rusty and I wasn't really interested in keeping them. I was surprised how easily they came out.

Some of the paint was worn on the top and I was sure that a dark wood dresser was where I was headed....so off to the hardware store to get some stripper.
Let me tell you ...after a whole weekend of stripping, sanding and staining this dresser I was wiped out. I myself wasn't totally happy with it but my husband loved it.
And when it was placed it in the room......so did I.

Not perfect but rich. So I call it from Red to riches.
